Application
Aluminum trichloride is mostly used as a catalyst for organic synthesis, and is widely used in petroleum cracking, synthetic dyes, synthetic rubber, synthetic resins, synthetic detergents, medicines, perfumes, pesticides, etc.
Mainly used as a hardener for precision casting mold shells. It can be used as wood preservative, papermaking sizing precipitation agent. It is the raw material for the hydrocracking catalyst monomer in the petroleum industry. Used in wool refining (to remove plant fiber by carbonization), aluminum hydroxide gel production, also used in dyeing and pharmaceutical industry.
