Octabromoether is soluble in benzene, acetone, chloroform, etc., but is insoluble in hydrohexanol, and has a decomposition temperature of 270°C. It is the main product of tetrabromobisphenol A deep processing and has a better flame retardant effect. In the polymer flame retardant, it is an additive flame retardant, and is often used for the flame retardant of polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polybutene and many polyolefin copolymers.
