Because too much sugar intake is not good for health, and the demand for "sweetness" is people's instinct. Therefore, the sugar substitute industry has developed well in recent years, and the output of sweeteners in my country has continued to grow. By 2018, China's sweetener production increased to 188,000 tons, an increase of 13.94% year-on-year; in 2019, China's sweetener production reached 209,000 tons, an increase of 11.17% year-on-year.

In terms of sub-categories, the main products of sweeteners in my country are aspartame, acesulfame K, sucralose, erythritol, etc. Among them, erythritol has the highest output in 2019, at 108,000 tons, accounting for the overall The output of sweeteners was 21.43%; by sucralose, with an output of 100,000 tons, accounting for 19.84%; by acesulfame K and aspartame, with an output of 18.45% and 17.26% respectively.

In terms of downstream applications, my country's sweetener industry is mainly used in the beverage industry, accounting for about 50%; by seasoning, personal care products, and baked goods, accounting for 15%, 13% and 11% respectively; and then The pharmaceutical field accounts for 3%; other applications are less, accounting for a total of 7%.
